My mother and father were very busy and mom was kinda sick with the flu so although they put the tree in the stand and put the lights on it they didn't hang the decorations on the tree till a few days before Christmas Eve.
It was a very long time for me to wait.
And then it took them forever to put each decoration on the tree. "Shall we put it here?" "Shall we put it there? I don't know why they bother, I'm going to rearrange them anyway.
The last decoration they put on the tree is always Miss Mouse. She's been around longer than I have. Even longer than old Shayna and she's really old, like 18 years. She has kitty dementia and forgets where she is going sometimes. But she's still really fast!
For a really good story about Miss Mouse click on her name but wait till I finish my story.
So the tree is up and they are admiring it and me because I have been deceptively well behaved.
Nice lights reflecting in the window glass. No tree skirt to cover up my favorite new drinking dish.
They have toasted the tree with a bit of brandy eggnog.
And they are starting to get sleepy.
Good night Mom. Good night Dad. See you in the morning. hehehe...
OK, Shayna, break out the catnip.
I've been looking forward to licking the remains of the eggnog all night!
