A week after I wrote the last post I was called by the U.S. Census Bureau and asked if I wanted to work for them. Training started the following week and it's been 40 hours a week since then along with all the other things I'm doing. Lots of things fell by the wayside, blogging was only one of them. And we had a computer crash and adopted a new kitty and have been taking care of Katie Cat and lots of things but not very much art or quilting but I'll be getting back to that soon. She said hopefully :)
So here is a snapshot of what has been going on in April & May...
Breezy, our new kitty. She's about six months old and all legs.
Maggie Mae has take taken to the high ground (our kitchen sink) until she can figure out what this interloper is doing in her house.
Katie is taking it with more equanimity. Sun rays are more important than whippersnappers. She's been under the weather but seems to be enjoying her quiet moments in the sun.
Ever the optimist, I have planted tomatoes and basil again this year. We barely have enough sun for tomatoes if the weather is perfect but we endeavor to persevere. Sweet ripe tomatoes, fresh basil, homemade mozzarella - it doesn't get better than that. With any luck there will be some by August, and if not, thank heaven for farm stands!
I hope everyone has a good weekend!
PS The roses on the header were a mother's day present. Thanks guys!
"One of the most tragic things I know about human nature is that all of us tend to put off living. We are all dreaming of some magical rose garden over the horizon instead of enjoying the roses that are blooming outside our windows today."
