It's fall and time to do the repairs that have been waiting all summer. My good friend Richard offered to help (which means he does it and I help) and we attacked some things that have been waiting for a while. It was so nice for me to have the help and company!
We fixed and painted the bathroom (leftovers from two broken pipes) and put new molding on the floor. think revenge of the miter box.
Actually, Richard did a great job with the mitering. And painting. It looks great!
Next we replaced the front step.
Uck! A technical term for rotten wood which I stepped on and went flying when it broke.
One 42" slab of the hardest wood on the planet, four hours and every tool in our arsenal and voila! A new step! Now to stain it and paint the steps.
We (that's the royal we, which means I helped and made dinner) also fixed the gutters, removed the air-conditioner, put grass seed on the bare spots in the back lawn and started on the basement. We rearragned, put up shelves and threw out large bags of garbage. That's when the light fixture fell off the ceiling and hit me in the head. It didn't knock any sense into me, but it did jam my teeth together, and give me a stiff neck combined with a five day headache and jaw ache.
And again in life, it's not what you know but who you know...
This is the lady that saved me. Leslie of Litchfield Hills Massage.
Leslie has magic hands and a great heart! The jaw ache and neck ache and tooth aches went away!
There is more to do (isn't there always) but things are shaping up! If I can just stay out from under falling objects, I'll do fine.
