This picture was taken around noon by Louise. She took a walk down to the Harbor in Northport LI. I don't remember it looking like this after Hurricane Gloria. It will be worse this afternoon and this evening.
All the state roads are closed in CT. Gov. Malloy said in his news conferennce that Hurricane Sandy poses a greater risk to human life than any other natural disaster in our life time. When he came back on at noon today he said not only did he mean that but the storm was intensifying and would be worse than they thought.
Phil's dad, my dad-in-law, had to evacuate his home in Bridgeport. At noon today they shut down the power plant near there to prevent damaged and the whole town is dark. The storm surge is expected to be 11 feet above high tide.
