This little wall hanging (the one pictured on the cover is 20" x 26") is based on one of the prints I made in art school. I didn't like the print so I cut it up and pasted on paper in what looked like a quilt pattern. It proved the perfect inspiration for an art quilt.
If you want to try something new it's good to have friends! Karen, Holly and Kathy came by to give it a try. Trish chimed in later and did a wonderful job. Above is the lovely and talented Karen Eckmeier playing with blues.
After we got them together on a Saturday morning and played with my painted art cloth.
We tried boarder variations and placement and background colors...
And this is Holly's hand. I am so glad we tried a white background - it came out so well.
Here are some of the finished quilts.
Here is a wonderful variation made by Trish with my butterscotch swirl fabric.
More are coming as soon as I photograph them!
Good friends are a wonderful thing to have!!
And speaking of friends and things that are new... Karen has a new book out Layer Waves.
